Resonance had been EOL’d in 2018 and it was my second commercial software product developed for the VFX market. I have included its version 1.0 User Guide below. Resonance’s rendering engine was completely written in AVX instructions using Intel intrinsics, so it offered excellent interactivity. It supported both MacOS and Windows.

Resonance is a high performance image generator plugin designed for motion graphics and abstract effects purposes. Based on a simple caustics rendering engine and four user directed emitters which generate various wave patterns, Resonance allows designers to create sophisticated organic rippling visuals via multiple carefully designed in-viewer controls that we call HUDs, i.e. Headup displays. Users of our Escher plugin package should find Resonance easy to use as it shares the same design direction with our Escher’s caustix plugin but the results generated by Resonance are far more sophisticated. As there is no interframe dependency of Resonance rendering, users are always free to scrub through the timeline for maximum interactive creative design freedom.
