Warriors of Future, directed by NG Yuen-Fai is now streaming on Netflix. This movie also won the Best Visual Effects award from both 16th Asia Film Awards and 41st Hong Kong Film Awards. FATface was the primary VFX vendor and I was the Technical Consultant of this project.
With over 2,000 visual effects shots, this project represents another important milestone of Hong Kong VFX movies. Most importantly, Warriors of Future was also Hong Kong’s first modern and original SciFi movie. My contribution to the project started from 2017 where we needed a robust ACES color pipeline following an initiative by OneCool’s standardization of using ACES workflow throughout all film projects. On top of that, tools for accelerating various tasks especially for data exchange and iterations were also on my list. This resulted many new pipeline components for FATface, they include such as Arnold tools and Data explorer tools.
